Thor ranges: sizes, fuel and series
Thor's range lineup runs from compact 24-inch models up to 60-inch professional ranges. Fuel choices include natural gas, liquid propane, electric, dual fuel and induction. In Thor's words, a dual fuel range means "a combination of a gas stove and an electric oven, or vice versa."
Thor sorts its ranges into lettered series. Four 36-inch gas ranges we carry show the spread:
-
LRG3601U: 6 burners and a 6.0 cu. ft. convection oven.
-
A Series ARG36: Thor's Contemporary Professional gas range with 6 burners.
-
X Series XRG36E: Italian brass burners that reach 22,000 BTU and simmer down to 1,000 BTU.
- S Series SRG3601: six burners from an 18,000 BTU burner to a 3,500 BTU simmer, with a 6.0 cu. ft. oven.
Natural gas or propane
Thor lists ranges such as the LRG3601U as "Natural Gas / LP Convertible" and says gas ranges designed for natural gas can be converted to liquid propane using a liquid propane conversion kit. Thor asks you to consult a licensed technician for the installation. Many of our Thor gas ranges and packages come in a natural gas or a propane version, so check the gas type on the product page before you order. Thor strongly recommends a qualified professional for installation, especially for gas or dual fuel models.
Indoor ranges, outdoor grills
Thor states that its ranges are intended for indoor use only and points outdoor cooks to its outdoor kitchen appliances. For a built-in grill, read our guide comparing the Thor TPG3601-G and MK04SS304 gas grills, or go straight to the TPG3601-G 36-inch built-in grill.
Thor warranty
Thor's warranty page says its 2-year warranty covers parts and labor for Thor Kitchen appliances, with listed exceptions. Outdoor Kitchen Suite products carry 2 years parts only. Check Thor's warranty page for your model before you buy.
