How to choose a size
For a linear model, start with the wall width and how wide you want the flame, then pick from the widths in the table. For a firebox, measure the opening or the framed space you plan to build. Before you frame, check the unit and framing dimensions in the Dimplex installation manual for your model. Revillusion also comes in a 36 inch portrait version.

Dimplex electric fireplace FAQ
What is the difference between Optimyst and Ignite flames?
Optimyst creates 3D flames and smoke from water vapor and light. Ignite uses the Dimplex Multi-Fire flame effect, which blends layered LED lighting and reflections.
Do Dimplex electric fireplaces need a chimney, gas line or vent?
No vent is needed for Optimyst, which Dimplex says runs with no fuel, no venting and no combustion. Dimplex says Ignite XL requires no venting, fuel or ongoing maintenance.
Can I use the flame without heat?
Yes. Dimplex says Vital Sense and Vital Spark flames can be used with or without heat all year, Ignite XL and Ignite Bold can run flame only, Revillusion has a flame only mode, and the Optimyst Pro Box runs flame only or flame and heat.
How much space can a Dimplex fireplace heat?
Dimplex rates Ignite XL, Ignite Bold, Vital Sense, Vital Spark, Revillusion and Optimyst Linear for spaces up to 1,000 sq. ft. Dimplex calls the Vital Spark heater supplemental heat.
Can I control it from my phone?
Vital Sense and Vital Spark work with the Glen Dimplex Connect App, a remote or a hidden panel. Dimplex lists the Flame Connect App for Ignite Bold, Ultra and Evolve and for Optimyst Linear. Ignite XL has no app and uses hidden touch controls and a remote.
Can I put a Dimplex in my existing fireplace?

What sizes does Ignite XL come in?
Ignite XL comes in 50, 60, 74 and 100 inch widths: XLF50, XLF60, XLF74 and XLF100.
