Buck Stove Homesteader Wood Cook Stove
The Homesteader is Buck Stove's wood cook stove: a heating stove with a full 1.6 cubic foot baking oven and two stove-top cooking eyes, so one appliance heats the room and cooks the meal. Buck rates it for 800 to 1,800 square feet at 11,079 to 28,901 BTUs per hour. It is an EPA-exempt appliance, which is how a cook stove with an oven is classified rather than a reflection of how it burns.
New to the Buck line for 2026, and the only Buck wood stove you can bake in.
Built by Buck Stove in Spruce Pine, North Carolina. Buck Stove has made stoves in the USA since 1975.

Questions buyers ask
Can you really cook on it?
Yes — that is the point of it. There is a 1.6 cubic foot oven with a bake rack behind its own door, and two cooking eyes in the stove top. Thermostatic control is what makes baking practical rather than guesswork.
How much of the house will it heat?
Buck rates it for 800 to 1,800 square feet. That puts it alongside the Model 21 for heating, with the oven on top.
Why is it EPA exempt?
Wood cook stoves are a separate category in the EPA's rules from wood heaters. It is a classification, not a performance figure.
Is there a blower?
No. The Homesteader is not offered with one.
